They are GREAT hiking boots!
I was very thankful to find these boots are still available. I have owned several pairs dating back to when they were marketed under another brand name. They're the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned! They're as comfortable as athletic shoes. The high ankle gives fantastic support for hiking in rough terrain or climbing ladders. The zip side makes them convenient to slip off and on anywhere, like for TSA at the airport. The aggressive tread provides great traction in wet conditions, loose dirt, mud and snow. They have enough insulation to keep your feet warm in cold conditions and breathe well enough to be comfortable in the hot Texas summers. They even look good! I wear mine everywhere. I've got three pairs. The oldest I wear when I'm fishing and slogging through the mud and muck or doing dirty jobs. The second pair is newer and I wear those as daily wear shoes. They provide the comfort and support to stay on my feet all day long, whether walking in the park, shooting baskets with the neighborhood kids or a long day of shopping at the mall. I'm wearing that pair now. I have saved my nicest pair for going out. When life calls for clean well kept shoes but not dress shoes they are classy enough to wear almost anywhere. For me the time has come to retire a pair and get some new ones.
